Ten of the state’s top country pubs are in the running for one of the most sought-after titles of the AHA NSW Awards for Excellence – Regional Hotel of the Year.
Hotels from the Hunter, the mid and far North Coast and Central NSW are in line for the award which is given to the stand-out regional hotel of 2024, which was won by Tattersall’s Hotel, Armidale last year.
The independent judges take into consideration everything from food and beverage, ambience and overall presentation of the hotel to community support and customer service. AHA NSW CEO John Whelan said more than half of the 950 entries this year were located outside of the Greater Sydney area.
“Pubs in regional and rural NSW truly are the back-bone of their communities,” said Mr Whelan.
“They hold a special place in country life which goes well beyond serving good food and drinks.
“These ten hotels are not just the best in regional NSW, they are some of the best in the nation and I wish them all good luck.”
The finalists are:
Bellbird Hotel, Bellbird
Settlers Inn Hotel, Port Macquarie

The Nyngan Hotel, Nyngan
The Beach Hotel, Merewether
Bradford Hotel, Rutherford

The winner will be named at a gala ceremony on Tuesday, 29 October 2024 at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney.
