The question of how you pronounce it will live on, but the search for the best pub parmi in NSW has been narrowed down to just 16 finalists.
Judges for the AHA NSW Awards for Excellence have been touring pubs across the state to whittle down the record number of entrants in what has become one of the most competitive award categories.
The finalists include pubs from Mosman to Merewether, from Sutton to Shell Cove and everywhere in between.
The winner will be named at a gala ceremony on Tuesday, 31 October 2023 at Royal Randwick racecourse.
AHA NSW CEO John Whelan said the category is only in its third year but is quickly becoming one of the most popular parts of the annual awards.
“The parmi has long been a staple part of the pub menu, but the dishes listed in this year’s awards are in a category all their own,” said Mr Whelan.
The finalists include:
Camden Valley Inn Cawdor
Country Club Hotel Tooleybuc
Eagle Hawk Hotel Sutton
Finnian’s Tavern Port Macquarie
Nags Head Hotel Adamstown
O’Donoghues Emu Plains
Ophir Hotel Orange
Peel Inn Hotel Nundle
