The Fair Work Commission has varied the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020 (HIGA) to address matters arising out of the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic and resultant government measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Two Covid-19 specific schedules have been incorporated into the HIGA:
- Schedule J – which deals with flexibility; and
- Schedule X – which deals with unpaid pandemic leave.
Schedule J expired on 27 September 2020 in line with the end of the Jobkeeper 1.0.
Schedule X will continue to operate until 28 March 2021 in line with Jobkeeper 2.0.
