Pub patrons across NSW now have the chance to vote for their favourite local and see it’s name up in lights at the Australian Hotels Association NSW Awards for Excellence at Royal Randwick next month.
The fourth “People’s Choice” award has seen more than 10,000 votes received for pubs right across the State. Voting for the 10 finalists begins Monday.
AHA NSW CEO John Whelan said “People’s Choice” was the only award category where members of the public get to have their say on the best local in NSW.
“Whether you’re there to celebrate a big event, on a date night, out for a family dinner or just enjoying a quite drink in front of the footy, everyone loves their local,” Mr Whelan said.
“This award is a chance for members of the community to give something back to hard-working publicans and their team for providing a ‘home away from home’ every day of the year. The fact more than 10,000 people have already voted just goes to show the importance of a regional or suburban pub to their communities.
“Voting for finalists begins Monday, it’s going to be close, best of luck to all.”

- Balldale Hotel, Balldale
